Travel is such an important way of enriching your life, experiencing new things and broadening your horizons. Luckily, it’s now easier than ever to see more of the world. In fact, budget airlines allow us to get almost anywhere for a pretty affordable cost, and this is amazing for those of us with the travel bug. I’m already gearing up for my trips next year, and you should be too, so I want to share with you some of the most breathtaking destination ideas for 2019.
1. San Francisco, United States
There are so many places in the United States I could have included on my list. But I feel the charm and aesthetics of San Fran earn it a place. I visited recently, and I have a list of the 5 best views in San Francisco you need to check out. This is such a photogenic city and it’s home to wonderful tourist attractions, such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf. You’ll also find a whole load of incredible food, cultural experiences, and friendly locals to boot. Definitely make sure you take a trip to San Francisco at some point next year – you won’t regret it!
2. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
If you want to go further afield, it’s important to make sure you consider Africa, and all the wonder and beauty bursting at the seams here. Tanzania is one of the many jewels of Africa and is absolutely breathtaking.
In particular, you need to make sure you check out Serengeti National Park, one of the most beautiful and jaw-dropping places on Earth. A safari paradise, it’s home to the Big 5 and offers so many incredible and tailor-made safari experiences for visitors. Whatever you want to get out of a safari adventure, you’ll find it in Tanzania.
3. Banff, Canada
The best thing about Canada is how diverse and contrasting the landscapes are. There are so many weird and wonderful parts of the Great White North, but Banff is definitely top of the list for diehard travel aficionados.
Nestled in the north of the Rockies, in the province of Alberta, the small town of Banff is one of Canada’s most beautiful. Many people have likely never heard of it, but this just means you get the majestic views and surroundings to yourself. Immerse yourself in chateaus, boutiques, rustic restaurants, and plentiful skiing opportunities. Aren’t you getting wistful just thinking about it?
4. Victoria, Australia
There are a lot of places in Australia that are pretty darn breathtaking. I mean, they have the Outback. But, I’ve tried to go off-piste a little for you guys. So, what’s made me choose Victoria? I’ll summarise in three words – Great Ocean Road. This is one of the most scenic drives in the world, a picture-perfect journey along Australia’s south-eastern coast. It’s a route everyone needs to take at least once in their lifetime; it will change the way you view travel, trust me!
5. Isle of Skye, Scotland
If you like ancient, medieval castles, quaint, quiet fishing villages, and more than 600 square miles of heavenly landscape, the Isle of Skye needs to make your list. This is the perfect introduction to Scotland, and somewhere you could imagine Outlander being filmed.
Visit the town of Portree while you’re here, and enjoy the rich history and culture of the island. There are a lot of stunning landscapes to enjoy in Scotland, but this is easily one of the most impressive.
These are just five of the best and most exciting destinations you could consider for 2019 – and, in fact, for any future travel plans. However, the world is most definitely your oyster. Whether you want to watch lions catching their prey in Africa or soak up the city vibes of San Francisco, there are plenty of options out there for you. All you need to do now is pick one! Easier said than done, right?
