Finding a Hostel in Seoul can be overwhelming task when trying to select the best, luckily I discovered Kpop Stay: The Best Hostel in Seoul. I have sought out to help make this task a little less stressful for anyone visiting Seoul. Over the years I have stayed in hundreds of hostels all across the world. They have varied from fantastic to mediocre and downright awful. My selection processes has become increasingly better over the past 5 years of hosteling. I finally have it down to a science of relying on blogs, reviews, word of mouth and good old-fashioned gut instinct. Location is one of the most important parts of the selection process and Hondae is one of my favorite areas in Seoul. There is literally always something going on in this Korean college town!
After entering the Kpop Stay hostel for the first time I knew I had arrived at a hidden gem in the heart of Hongdae. The hostel is a beautiful two-story house with a large deck and front yard. The porch is great for having a few beers or just relaxing with some new friends. When I arrived the hostel staff greeted me with a warm welcome, towel and complimentary water. After getting settled in I took a nice stroll around the place; the upstairs has a really nice lounge area and outdoor balcony. Overall the interior looked really new and had a beautiful modern decoration with a Kpop themed ambiance and of course some Korean pop concerts playing on the flat screen. Regardless of your fascination with Kpop, this is a great hostel!
The staff is made up of an international crowd, which can speak a wide range of languages to help accommodate any international traveler. In my opinion a hostel is only as good as the people who run it. Luckily, the Kpop Stay hostel is owned and operated by some great staff. The Hostel offers something for any type of traveler. Whether you are looking for some peace and quiet after a long day of sight seeing or just trying to enjoy some of Seoul’s best nightlife, Kpop hostel is the place for you. The rooms vary, but all offer a great deal of privacy and the beds are some of the most comfortable I have used in my travels.
10 Bed Male Dorm room ($35 per night)
This room is the one I stayed in and the beds are extremely comfortable and spacious. I am 6’3 (191cm) and had no problems getting a great night sleep. The privacy of the curtains make getting a good nights rest no problem. There are also lights and outlets equipped in each bed. The room was air conditioned and felt great since it was extremely humid and hot in Seoul the past few days. Underneath the beds are lockers, which allow you lock up your valuables. The top bunks provide a little more headroom, but the bottom ones are easier to access and still offer a lot of space.
6 Bed Female Dorm ($35 per night)
8 Bed Female Dorm ($31 per night)
14 Bed Female Dorm ($29 per night)
Double Bed Private Rooms are also available for ($90 per night). All the room is the rooms boast the similar horizontal traditional bunk bed style rooms that offer great privacy via the curtains. The 6 bed female is a little bit different since it is in the pod style instead. Regardless of the room style, there is plenty of privacy and room for a good nights rest.
